I am generally happy with this refrigerator, I think it was a good value for the price. The only issues that I have are with the icemaker and what I believe is unused space, The icemaker bin should have higher walls, since when getting ice,often cubes slip out of the bin and go below the shelving into the bottom of the freezer below the drawers and some just wind up outside on the floor. Spacing-wise, I am wondering why there are such gaps behind and below the bottom freezer drawers and the behind the shelves of the freezer. I have never had one that had these gaps, which in turn limit the capacity of what I can store in the unit.

The motor

The main thing I do not like about my new whirlpool refrigerator is that it makes this rattling noise when the motor start starts up. This goes on for about a minute and then it sounds like a normal refrigerator. I haven™€™t had time to find out if this is normal or not. Maybe you could tell me if this is what is expected?

It will keep your foods cold as the most basic function. Wouldn't buy again. The items in the back of the fridge wind up being partially frozen. The sounds it makes are so annoying and loud. Our fridge went out and we had to get something in our budget at the time...but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for...it's truly a budget fridge. As soon as our budget allows will be purchasing something else that's better

Ice Maker Loud

Bought this in February. Noticed immediately that the ice maker is extremely loud when filling up. Had to turn it off. Embarrassing when there™€™s company for dinner. Called Support and they said it was ™€˜normal™€™. Ridiculous. The doors are also not aligned properly. We™€™ve tried to do what the book says to remedy that, but there™€™s no hole to adjust it. When it was delivered (by Home Depot™€™s contractor), they set it up quickly but there™€™s still tiny bits of plastic wrapping in areas that™€™s hard to get out. And the logo practically ripped off the other day when I was wiping it down. Really cheap. We had a Whirlpool for 21 years before this one and the quality of what we had was 100 times better.

After Seven Months....

It took a lot of research to find a black refrigerator to meet my space requirements that did not have an upper deck freezer and no water dispenser in the door. I wanted a clean look and had no need for a water hook up at all. This one arrived and had an easy installation process. I've waited seven months before I provided a review because I wanted to be sure everything continued to work fine. I am pleased to report that this model is quiet, maintains proper temp, the alarms work fine and there is plenty of space to meet my needs. There is a little slippage with the drawers as they move back and forth, but not a big deal. For the price this was a great buy. I am happy with it and have referred this model to others.

Pros and Cons

Seems to be working well but after delivered the doors weren't level and when we went to fix them according to the manual either the parts were stripped or the manual was incorrect, had to have the delivery crew come back out and they just used a shim, also one of the bottom hinges of the doors is bent which crazy enough was not the reason the doors were off because if it wasn't bent the door would have been even higher than the other but still hate to see damage on a new appliance. On a good note, love that the water comes out so cold and the ice dispenser works quickly and effectively. Pulling out the top drawer of the freezer can be a little bit of a pain when the ice is full because the weight is heavier on one side and the drawer is a little flimsy so you really have to make sure to pull from the ice side and not the middle.

Although there was an instruction manual included, there wasn™€™t any information on the door bin installation. Four of the six bins have smaller tabs than the other two. It isn™€™t obvious and took a while to figure out where each bin was supposed to be placed.

We bought this refrigerator about a month ago to replace a KitchenAid model that lasted about 8 years. It is fairly equivalent to the KitchenAid model except for the undersized Meat/Deli drawer. We are hoping it will last at least as long as the extended 5 year warranty we tacked on. I am old enough to remember when I was able to purchase refrigerators that lasted much longer. This unit seems a little noisier too, but as we are going deaf, that is not going to be an issue...

Missed the mark with the water dispenser

I bought this fridge a month ago. I liked the adjustable shelves and the deli tray. I don™€™t like that you need two hands to use the water dispenser . It would be better if the water button were under the dispenser spigot to allow you to push the button with the glass while holding it under the spigot, this would allow for one hand dispensing.

Works well enough so far. I had to turn the ice maker off (didn't want on in the first place) because I don't use a lot of ice and it seemed to keep making it and it spilled over into my freezer drawer. Also the design of how you open the drawers is counterintuitive. The opening on the drawer where you place your fingers to pull is facing upward and open instead of open from the bottom. (Think U design instead of n design), Otherwise everything else seems to work just fine.

Decent Counter Depth Unit.

Looks very nice. Decent capacity for a counter depth model. The upper bin in the freezer doesn't "glide" in/out very well. Seems like that could be improved. My older fridge had a very smooth glide in and out. In general the upper freezer bin just worked much better. The fridge temp has more fluctuation than I'd like -- I have a thermometer sitting in central and undisturbed location and the temp varies a bit more than I'd expect...but overall if keeps things sufficiently cold. The light placement is meh -- it's easy to block light getting to lower shelves with things on upper shelves. Surely a few more strategically placed LED lights would be nice. Also a bit of Frost from opening the freezer often causes the freezer light switch to stick closed just a bit and the light may not come on in the freezer. Despite these issues.... so far I'm pretty happy with it. It's amazing what 3 inches less depth does though. It is limiting when you are used to plenty of space by a full depth unit.

We bought this refrigerator due to the size. We wanted one that was a smaller footprint, good cubit ft of space, and closer to counter depth that does not have exterior water and ice in the door. For this, the fridge checks all the boxes. We are happy with the interior size, exterior size, counter depth included. Where we are not as happy is with the center drawer, both doors have to be open in order to access the deli drawer, not a deal breaker just seems like a design flaw. One drawer is nice but I would rather have it split into two drawers so that I could open one door or the other depending on the drawer I need to access. Freezer space is limited. This works in our favor as we have a garage freezer and we wanted more fridge space. If you need more freezer space, consider if this will fit your needs. What I am most disappointed in, the ice maker. It worked lovely for the first month. No kidding, one month and now it does not work. I have tried to reach out to customer support and that has not been successful. So, we had ice for one month and none for two months so far.

Fantastic Operation & Storage

I did not realize how cold a refrigerator should be. I don't care for the drinking water source on the left side of the refrigerator's interior frame. More storage is available due to its placement. I installed a food grade .25" silicon rubber hose onto the water's spout which allows me to easily fill different containers. The water tastes excellent coming from the filter. The refrigerator has well designed compartments for food, condiments and the freezer is a nice size for a cabinet depth refrigerator.

Time for a new refrigerator.

Although it is listed as having a mat finish it still does show fingerprints. Liked the finish that was on my black Magtag refrigerator. Inside of refrigerator the drawers slide nicely and seems roomie even if it is a cabinet depth.Still waiting for the replacement of the front door of refrigerator that was scratch.

Losing ice cubes in the back of freezer

Have had this refrigerator for about a month. Works great, but wish the ice maker arm did not push ice out of the full ice bin when pulling the upper shelf forward. The only option I can see is turning the ice maker off BEFORE the bin is full and remembering to turn it back on in anticipation of needing more ice.

Very Quiet

I have always trusted Whirlpool rerigerators but after reading reviews, it was noted that they were loud. I am very happy to report that the refrigerator is very quiet except for the water coming in to fill the ice maker but that is only a few seconds. I bought the counter depth and is perfect for my location. The only negative is that the freezer section is pretty small because of the depth. Overall, I am very happy with my choice.
